Ice fishing Wisconsin 2010
« on: February 07, 2010, 03:59:43 PM »
Fished Cedar Lake in Manitowoc county on Saturday with wind and snow squalls off the lake. Temps were in the low 20's.
Ice depth was 18"
Fishing was pretty good on Saturday with our group catching 16 northerns and 1 11" crappie, all fish were caught on tip ups with med shiners and sucker minnows. fishing from 6-15' of water.
Not many pics as it was a party type day and it was getting to be a pain running back to the truck for the camera so only a couple of pics for this report.

This picture will show you how hard it was snowing all morning

Hit Berry Lake in Oconto County with Mike (LTO) on Saturday for a day of fishing.
Weather was not 38 and sunny like was forecast but 28 and some wind to go along with cloudy sky's that gave way to sunshine in the afternoon.
Ice depth was 16" and we fished between 5-15' of water.
Mikes HOT orange/yellow gill pill was the trick for him again and T.H.E jig was working for me on and off along with a couple of other glitter jigs. jigs were tipped with waxies and maggots with the waxies working better.
We kept a total of 20 gills/crappies and tossed many more back during the day.
Also iced about 10 northerns on tip ups and one on a jig pole and 3 largemouth.
here are some pics from the day on Berry.

Another gill pill pannie

This crappie fell for T.H.E blue/pink jig orange/yellow work best

Fished Cedar Lake in Manitowoc County today.
Weather was nice with temps at start 18 above and no wind and temps finished with a high of 32 with a light winds and snow showers.
Ice depth was 18" with a lot of snow on the ice.
Was a slow day for Cedar Lake with 2 nice largemouth and 3 very small snot rockets.
All fish came on tip ups with med shiners and spinner rigs getting the most action. Fished from 5'-17' of water.

Here are a few pics from today's outing.

Hooked up with Mike (LTO) on Saturday for a day of fishing on Winnebago.
Weather was a little windy some flurries and temps in the low 30's with mostly overcast sky.
First place we hit produced 1 nice perch and a few hits and marked some fish but then they shut down.
Moved to 2nd spot and nothing no marking fish no hits.
Moved to 3rd spot and set up and nothing was going on so we decided to move in further off Brothertown and see what we could find.
Mike drilled a bunch of holes and I cleaned them out as my Auger ran out of gas.
We started jigging and picked up a couple of white bass then Mike threw on the Chubby Darter and started to pound em.
I threw back on a silver red prism pimple and also finally started to get em.
Schools of fish would move in and out and we would nail a couple of White bass sheepshead and sauger.
All in all what looked to be a tough day wound up to be a great fishing day.
Travel on the lake is a little tough with lot of snow, stay on plowed roads if you can before you venture off and watch for the sturgeon holes that are not marked.
Here are a bunch of pics from Saturday's outing.

Stay just outside the crowds prove to be a little better fishing

Here is a Sheepshead

and another
