I can't honestly answer that because my favorite jig is whatever they are hitting today. I own and have fished just about everything listed above but find changing conditions can sometimes cause you to catch less if you stubbornly stick to your favorite. Sure if they turn on it will work, but sometimes changing sizes and styles will unlock the puzzle. I usually have seven jigging rods with me on the ice and I routinely change lures between trips.

chez, we have to get out together sometime..... I usually have at least seven rods rigged with different jigs on my sled and a few more in my truck for back up. I like and use most of the jigs listed in this thread, but have caught a bunch of nice gills this year on a big (sz 8) horizontal jig on a Mr. Jigger. Best  color has been is orange and chart. with black dots, kind of a traditional paint job. I still like to stay open minded cause the fish seem to change attitudes by the day.

The old standby jig is the old marmooska.....  The other year I came across the hexifly and that one caught me lots of fish that year.  I can not find the color any more.

Any how I been using my own painted football minnow jigs with a lot of success.

I am more like you guys....   Have 6 rods rigged most of the time with different jigs of faith on each one

That should have been  sz 8 in my above post. Not sure where guy with shades came from? Jiggerman I'm with you; I swapped out a couple jigs tonight but of course with ones that have proven successful in the past. I always have a couple (few) rigged with plastic , too.

I fish for crappies too much to have a favorite jig, they change their minds on what they want every 5 minutes  :?

I was thinking something politically incorrect about how often fish change their minds, but didn't say it......

man this thread keeps getting resurrected! Ok, I'll bite ;D

My favorite is any Jammin Jig tear drop, flea or glitter grub. The gills eat any of them up.
When Hell freezes over, I'll ice fish there too!

Tungsten Hairline jigs only found gold but has worked everytime, gills love them. Either 1/50 th or 1/100 th tipped with a waixie or two. Only a buck a piece too with good hooks yet small 14 and 16 lost a few slab's last year on it but landed a ton.
