Neoprene Gloves
« on: January 23, 2017, 09:11:41 PM »
I have two pair of Neoprene gloves that I have never used. A pair of Hodgeman and a pair of Stearns. Has anyone ever tried them or have anything good to say about them when ice fishing? Other wise I may ebay them.

Your hands sweat in them and then get cold. Didn't  like the ones I had.

I had a pair of Glacier Glove neoprene gloves, I like them, could do things with them I couldn't do with larger gloves and my hands stayed dry, until they got full of hook holes, they lasted only 1 season.

Agreed.....  I used a pair last season...  They seem warm until your hands perspire or you do a task and remove them and then instant ice cold hands!
Maybe Spring fishing or somethin'.....

I don't like heavy gloves for ice-fishing. I used a pair of neoprene gloves for years, then found something better. They are similar to a cloth work glove but the fingers and palm are nitrile coated. You can get the same thing in latex. You have much better dexterity with them and they are waterproof, so you can handle the fish and even (carefully) put your hand in the water without getting your hands soaked.

Of course there is a trade-off with these thinner gloves. You have to keep handwarmers in your pockets and warm them up when they get really cold. But I would much rather do that than have heavy, bulky gloves. Been working great for 3 years now!
