Got your pm ty. I check the chrg about 3x a yr. Showed a good charge but when you take it off the charger not even enough juice to keep the status indicater lit.soon as you unplug the charger after it shows 100 percent on the indicator and there's not even enough power to keep the indicator lit.I do run it sometimes for 14 or 15 hrs straight.

I've had the same battery for something like 5 yrs. Gotta be carefull about charging these gell batteries though. If you over charge, meaning you leave it on too long, the gell will burn away from the metal plates on the inside. Makes it useless. If you only burn a few cells, the other cells will work but the battery won't hold a charge for beans. You aren't supposed to charge a gell battery for more than 4 hours.

The vex unit is supposed to go into maintenance mode. I'm thinking because the ultra pack case holds the battery on its side instead of standing up its killing the cell.

shouldn't be. the gell isn't liquid so much so it doesn't settle or anything. But when it's on a charger for too long the plates overheat and burn the gell away.
