Southeast Ice; general
« on: December 21, 2016, 01:30:36 PM »
OK; ran up to Kurt's and got some Spikes and wax worms. Best bait anywhere as far as I'm concerned. Since I was nearby I checked Struble; locked up with slightly over two in. Looked like it was uneven as in froze in different stages. Two guys looked like they might be trying to get on several hundred yrds from the ramp. No thanks!
Hopewell and Scotts both had 1.5- just under 2 where I checked; also frozen in stages. The upcoming warm spell will be a real buzz kill!
BTW, I do know that guys are risking their lives at Ontelaunee; please be safe everyone! Your families need you.

Forgot to, of course. Got 250 waxies at 12$ and 1000spikes at 16.50. Spikes were healthy size, too. Hope that helps.

A little Van -- was more interested in minnows - I'll run down(minnows don't seem to like my new minnow trap :'( )

Kurtz's is located near Elverson. If you Google Kurtz's fish hatchery there is a map that comes up. It is a little tricky to find(well used to be before GPS + Google maps LOL)
