I celebrated yesterday by hitting the ice at Promised Land just before dark. There were 2 guys there, but after dark I had the whole lake to myself. Set up the clam in windbreak mode(just a slight breeze) and roasted a couple dogs on the ice for dinner. Lots of lookers but only one taker- and he made off with my favorite (and best) glo-jig!  0~  My fault- I must have not cinched up the knot well. He hit and then nothing......................thought I broke the line, but when I reeled up the end of the line was all curled!  :? Must have pulled it right off the line!

All in all, it was a good night on the ice even if I did get the  *<>/! Beat the hell out of sitting at home on the couch watching the boob-tube!  ;)

Thanks Chez!

I forgot to mention that while I was fishing I started to hear what I thought at first was a dog barking. So I looked back towards shore expecting to see a light or headlamp(somebody walking their dog), but it was totally dark. From about 7:00-8:30 I heard it off and on. It didn't sound like a coyote...............think it was a fox(more of a "yippy" bark like a small dog).

In fact, when the fish hit and stripped the lure off my line, I never even saw it on the Marcum because I had turned and was looking for whatever was making that noise! It never did get close enough to see the eyes when I shined my headlamp, but it definitely didn't like the fact I was there!  ;)
