LOL! I was thinking about this last night when I heard the forecast for Sat/Sun(snow to rain and freezing rain)

I wanted to try to get on PL Lower Lake on Sat, but they usually don't salt that road. It wasn;t even plowed on Sunday. If we get snow, then freezing rain that hill coming down to the dam will be SLICK! Not sure I wanna risk getting stuck there!  ???

Might just check my local lakes and see if any of them will be fishable by the weekend. if so, might just stay local.

This is Pennsylvania not a chance. I was up at Moon Lake over the weekend as I was leaving I saw forestry trucks out on some of the side roads and thought Moon will be the next lake that they drain. We should have gone up there and chained our selves to the dam at white oak had the press come and get some negative publicity for them.
As far as the PFBC is concerned we don't exist or are a novelty at best. Now if they could find a way to make us buy an ice fishing stamp then they would all about it.

I think I am gonna ask Santa for a set of those zip-tie things this year! For $25, it would be good "peace of mind!"  8)

I was looking at getting a set of Thule chains last year but didn't need them, this year I think I will get them.

I'm going for it with my old Tahoe 4x4 w/super snow tires. Only way to stop that is glare ice.

While this topic is hot how about we all remind ourselves to make a call or 2 to DCNR and the fish commission and politely ask them if certain access roads and areas have been plowed.  I plan on calling DCRN next week to ask about a certain lake and recreation area and "remind" them that these public use areas are going to be busy with people this coming season.

That's what I'm afraid of! Rain on stop of packed snow on pavement= glare ice!  :(
