My "Pack Pledge" for 2016
« on: December 05, 2016, 12:14:00 PM »
I never really fished the Pack much over the years(maybe once or twice/yr). But after the monster stripers and Browns of last year, I have made a Pledge to fish it much more this year!  :o  Conditions permitting, of course!  ;)

I plan on hitting the pack a lot this year, don't know how the draw down is going to effect the fish though. I might target some of the bigger fish from time to time, maybe set up some tip ups for them but for the most part I'll be jigging for perch and crappie. 8)
When Hell freezes over, I'll ice fish there too!

I don't think it would affect the deeper areas much.

I think I will try my jawjacker's there this year.

Now hopefully it is not too windy once the temps drop and we can get a good layer of ice on top! Last year it took forever to freeze!  :?

Welcome Chuck! Hope to meet you this year. I fish Promised land a lot with Spider and the guys. We'll let you know when we're up there. I'm hoping to get to Lower lake for the first outing this year. It's usually one of the first lakes to lock up.

The Pac is very hit and miss as of late.
Not like the ole days.now its more miss than hit.
I font like to waste a day or 2 on the pac for an empty pail when i can be somewhere on more productive waters such as Harveys.or FEW.
IF I GET ON THE PAC ,GREAT,IF NOT I WONT LOOSE ANY SLEEP OVER IT.
BY THE TIME THE WORD OF THE BITE GETS OUT.ITS OVER.
GOOD LUCK GUYS.
I HOPE YOUR DREAMS COME THREW .

A buddy of mine fished the Pack the last 3 weekends in his boat and said the fish were still in the same depths of water they were in before the draw down. He just had to search for that depth. When he found it he found fish.

I have never ice fished the pack but i would love to get out there this year, just don't know to much about it. My pop tells stories of when he was a kid using boards to get out on the ice later in the year!

I've had some bad days on the pack just like anywhere else. But I think the pack is better than harveys hands down. I've had some good days up there.and few is like a big rock fish bowl. I'd take the pack anyday. Pl is a nice spot to. Lake Jean ain't even and never was on my radar. That lake ain't worth the trek up that mtn. Good for swimming though.

GOOD DAYS AND BAD DAYS EVERYWHERE BUDDY..[[[ZZIIPP]]!!!!!
I GOT TO DISAGREE WITH YOU ON FRANCIS E WALTER..
IT MIGHT BE SHAPED LIKE A BIG FISH BOWL BUT THERE IS LOTS OF STRUCTURE IF YOU LOOK.
IVE HAD A FEW GREAT DAYS ON F.E.W.FOR THE FEW TIMES IVE ICE FISHED IT.HUGE PERCH AND GREAT CALLICO...SMALLIES ALSO.
FAR WALK TO GOOD FISHING SPOTS BUT,,,SO IS IT AT THE PAC.
I THINK SPIDER HAS DONE WELL AT F.E.W. ALSO.....
IM NOT KNOCKING THE PAC PERSONALY BUT ,IM JUST STATING[[ I WOULD RATHER FISH SOMEWHERE WHERE I KNOW I CAN CATCH SOME FISH THAN HAVE A TOTAL BUST AT THE PAC......]]]
MAY BE YOU CAN BLINDFOLD ME AND TAKE ME TO THAT PERCH SPOT ON THE PAC OF YOURS ;)???????
ILL BRING THE BOOZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ALLWAYS HAVE A GOOD TIME.I HAVENT FISHED THE PAC ON THE ICE IN A FEW YEARS..AT LEAST FIVE....MAYBE THIS YEAR.
I THINK ITS GUNNA GET HIT HARD THIS SEASON WITH ALL THE BIG FISH CAUGHT ON IT,,, IN THE SHORT SEASON LAST YEAR.TROUT AND STRIPERS...

PL  IS A GREAT LAKE..
UPPER LAKE IS TOO WEEDY ANYMORE.....
GOOD LUCK BUDDY.
HOPE YOU GET A DEER.

Few def has fish. Just no view. The couple times I went there all the spots people told me were good were covered with guys and last yr with that crummy winter I didn't hit it like I planned. And harveys access is limited.you gotta remember I fish sometimes 16 hrs straight and get into a cpl of hrs of the bite. The pack can be hard on short 4 or 5 hr trips to find the bite.I need to get serious with my tipups again. The last cpl yrs I've been jigging which is fun but my bass count is way down.
