the only access is through franks unless you know someone who owns land up there.  my cousin lives there....watch the shoreline, it was open in many spots and areas of open water on the lake today.  i just got off the phone with him

Well I don't know how much you weigh fm but I'm 160 and I broke threw at carey all along the shore I drove up there 7am this morning to go fish I parked at the marina and tried to go out ***** no way**** so unless it froze 2 in in 14hrs today I would not trust that ice , so unless you drought a 10 ft plank or hopped on private land I would not ice fish , and if anyone falls threw or gets hurt I'm putting this one on you because your saying it's good to go . I completely  disagree . There was OPEN WATER on the back side . For anyone who goes bring a life jacket a 10 ft plank and a spud . And good luck !!!

Man what am I missing here are you trying to cover up the yellowfin tuna you got out there by Frank's?!?! Lol I drove up to oxbow today looked to be okay ice but couldn't reach it tho and gate is now locked on the camp side so maybe oxbow is out of the question this year. Took a peak at Carey on the way back and it looked okay but a lot of open water from bubblers and nasty shoreline. Didn't even bother checking Winola after the way those looked..
