If you are talking about your son, I would just say that it is hard to take advice from someone that you have seen in diapers.  Anyway - you can never have too many kayaks - I am up to 3 now and thinking about my next one.  I want to try one that you can stand in.  Not that I want to stand and fish that much but I do want to have the option to stand up and stretch my legs without going to shore.

Ken, no he's talkin about one of the guys on the site, his handle is "the kid". cuz he's a kid.... I hope Chez hasn't seen him in diapers :o

Chez, I told ya man, yer too big for that yak. I fell for the Field and Stream Talon. Nice yak. My grandson and I were at dicks the other day checking out yaks, I wouldn't wanna go with one of the 14 fte'rs, too long for the top of a vehicle. But the 12 ft yaks might be just right for a comfortable day out.

Whick one are you looking at now?

bro, I know! yer a lean mean fishin machine!!  !<>!  Are you lookin at the "sit on" or the "sit in". the sit on top is great cuz you can't sink it but I think the sit in is more comfortable.

the Jackson kayaks are nice for sure but like 3x the price.  That's like in between a Field and Stream and a Hobie ;)

Hm why is that chez? At least if you flip the kayak that's a sit on you can get out , but if you have a sit in then your stuck? I like the sit on top kind you can dangle your feet in the water and put more gear around you haha

Well my advise would be go to a dealership and sit in them and try moving around  and imagine grabbing gear and working it

Chez some places that carry several different kayaks will have a day when they take a bunch of the yaks they carry to a local lake so people can try them out before they buy them.

I have been eyeballing a couple of sit on top kayaks by Malibu kayaks.  The two larger sizes in the stealth yaks.   I like hobbies but they are a little out of my price range.
