Flatlanders trip two
« on: January 23, 2016, 04:15:29 PM »
Today we had a pretty good group out with us. The same four from last week Mark C, Matt K, John K and myself were joined by Mark's brother Rick, his son Rickey, Dana V and his son Corey.

We hit a lake we knew we could safely take the 4-wheelers and sleds out on. Target species was what ever would bite. It was a far cry from last weeks trip but we did manage to put a decent amount of fish on the ice. Fish were there but you had to work for them most of the time. On occasion an aggressive school would come by and we'd hammer three or four one right after the other but that wasn't the norm. Due to these conditions nothing outperformed anything else from my perspective. In total we landed around 117 white perch two giant yellow perch and a bunch of throw back yellows. It was nice to break my new 4-wheeler into ice fishing. A few picks of my wheeler and a shot of John's and my buckets of fish.

Yup Otter medium box, Otter lodge portable. Pulls easy on glare ice but not so much with Snow. So I usually only use it when I have a machine to tow it with. Love the room inside. Heats up well with a big buddy heater. I can't imagine needing a thermal cover. I'd die of heat exhaustion.
