Well, stopped at Walyworld and got the electric pump yesterday. Working like a charm, with no more "floaters"!  ;D

Gota watch how much they put out rutt. Some of the aquarium ones push so much air that it willtoss the bait around like the plague. They make inline reducers to turn the air down. Also keep air pump higher then bait if no checkvalve in line for 2 reasons 1 if power goes out can make a syphon and flood out ur pump possible drain bucket and when power comes on fire hhazard. Also if lower water can travel down line to pump or worse cord and find electric both not good. Mine vibrates and is noise so its hung up with string from ceiling in basement no vibration and no chance of syphon issue.

What do you feed them?

Regular gold fish food.

Well, I jinxed myself!  :(  Got home today and the remaining fish were all dead on the bottom of the bucket. Pump was working fine. Wondering if the temp of the water was too cold or something when I changed it?

Red- yeah, it came with a check valve so no worries.

Yeah, it's weird. Only had 1 or 2 die on me before today. Then when I got home all 7 remaining fish were dead!  :o

just bought a dual output air pump at wallybworld for $8, air stone are super cheap but will "gum" up and need changing or cleaning every few weeks.  i was always told not to feed minnows and that has worked for me for weeks on end.  i have also used a few pices of dog food with no adverse effects.  problem with fish food is tha its very high in protein, protein = nitrogen which immediately starts algea growth and reduced oxygen.  i always changed out the water the night before i go fishing, fortunate to have well water and good oxygenation always seems to perk them up.  i found one or two local bait stops where the employees obviously hate counting minnows somwhen i bring in my 5 gallon cooler and ask for 3 dozen fatties and 2 dozen shiners i get several scoops of each which equates to 3x more fish than i paid for
Never leave fish to find fish!!!

I keep mine in a 5 gal bucket.every 3rd day I crumble up about 7 pcs of hard cat food up and feed them. The next day I change the water. In the winter the basement stays around 45 deg. I can keep them for a while.I just keep em airaeted.I use a chlorine and hard metals remover in my water. Works good for me.
