Thanksgiving Day Fare?

This is not exactly a recipe but should inspire a few comments. What do you have to eat that sets your Thanksgiving meal apart frome the rest. We all have turkey and mashed potatoes and the standard menu but what sets your meal apart. I'm looking forward to some pickled beets, and a frozen cream cheese and cranberry ring that my mom is bringing. I'll be getting in my truck in a minute to go pick a few sprigs of black alder (bright red berries) for a table decoration.

i always put together a loaf of no-knead bread: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/08/dining/081mrex.html.  takes a while to make, but it involves almost no actual effort and tastes great.  this year i loaded mine up with rosemary, it'll be hitting the over shortly!
