NB Susky 18Dec11
« on: December 19, 2011, 04:52: PM »
Fish4FunJim and I hit up the North Branch of the Susky near falls ystdy from noon to 5ish.  A bit cold, but a beautiful day to be out on the river.  We caught 13 nice fat smallies all 16-17" and I luckily landed my 1st northern pike, 24".  He was hooked on the inside of his mouth with only 6lb mono and no leader.  Somehow the line held.  It was chewed up a bit, but didn't break.  Soon as I saw the fish I was like this thing is gone any second but i managed to get it close enough to be netted.  Here's a couple pics.  I'm sure Jim will post some more.

Nice fish guys. Northerns fight like the devil, and if you get them in you're rewarded with that beautiful blue coloring!!!!

Seems like that is what most people are chasing this time of year.  I do target them, but it's just hard to switch targets when your catching smallies like that one after another ,O'.

Where are the pics Wayne?  You'll just have to block out the background so we can't locate your secret spots  ;).  Good to hear you're still gettin em  !<>!.

Thanks bro.  Hope you can get out to catch a few over the winter being that you're probably on lockdown now with the new bundle of joy  ;D.

I was in Binghamton on Wednesday. What rain. The NB up in Susqhehanna is very high and muddy. We'll have to see when this latest water onslaught is over. No ice, no river, well if it had to be maybe Chistmas is best.
