Wade-tainer

So, I had one of these and may have posted it in the past but I have made a few changes to this simple bait container that I use for wading. My original was intended for worms and clippers. It was just a small Tupperware type container it held just about a cup and a half of bait. For some reason I attached the string to the container part of the thing instead of the lid so after selecting a worm I would frequently just drop the lid into the water thinking that it was attached. I never just dropped the piece with the bait in it. One day this spring that is exactly what happened I dropped the lid in some stronger current, not thinking, when I went to put it on it was somewhere in the Delaware Bay. I made this new one with a couple thoughts in mind. The plastic PB jar won't break is free and recycled, lol. I put the string in the top so I won't loose it. I'm going to get a very hot nail and melt lots small holes in the upper half of the PB jar so water can flow through it and keep minnows alive. I have been wading with one of those yellow flowtroll buckets for years, they are a drag in current and just when you are reaching in for a bait the lid snaps shut on your hand. I left the string long and loosely knotted so I can adjust it for different tasks. And I have another smaller PB jar ready for use as a worm/clipper/grasshopper container.

You guys that have a coding clue might like to try the tables functions on the BB buttons above they made this nifty layout possible.

Great idea. But I think a small drill bit would do the job just fine instead of a red hot nail.

I might make one up,  it would go perfect with my broom handle/para chord wading stick.. :)

Let us know how you like the drill. I find that they stress the plastic and leave small fractures. This will be my first try with the hot nail. I'm hoping that it will puncture and heal the edges when it melts through the plastic.

Patent it, nice job.  Now we have tables?  Where have I been,......

A small soldering iron might give you holes you're looking for, might be a bit messy on the iron though.
