Pine Creek (part2)
« on: May 29, 2010, 10:15: AM »

These pics are from last Saturday afternoon, evening and Sunday 5,22-23,10. It was a drizzly and damp 24 hours but still a good time. We drove over the mountain hauling the bikes to a place called Tiadagton (tie-a-dot-en) It is in the heart of the Pennsylvania Grand Caynon. We biked and fished some caught a few, missed a few. The ride over was great like a sight seeing tour. We saw old (steam engine old) iron mining exploration on mountain tops that made you wonder how they ever could have gotten such awkward heavy machinery up there. There was the bog with the white flowers. I was torn to muck my way out into it to get a look at these flowers as I think they were new to me. There was the Stony Creek Campground home of a good bluegrass festival in August, and Stony Creek Hunts a pay to hunt game farm. It was a stunner to be motoring down a dirt road and suddenly see a small herd of elk standing in a field. I quickly realized that they were behind a high fence. I think it would be fantastic if they would move a portion of the elk from the western PA to Tioga Co and start a second PA population. One other animal of note here was an albino deer. After all this excitement we went back to camp rested for 5 minutes and went fishing again till about 7 then had grilled chicken wings and corn on the cob washed down with Coronas. Life is good!
