Key West Vacation to Remember
« on: April 22, 2010, 03:41: AM »
This was one of many little knoles that lived at the Gulf View Resort were we stayed at.

We got down to marathon about 3pm'ish on friday and saturday was my dad's and I 1st day out fish'n.

They call them snappers cause that will snap a finger off.

Check out the pink/red tip on this bait fish.

It wasn't long before we had some nice doubles on.

Grouper and spainish mackeral

Spainish mac's are hellashish speed demons and pulls drags in mad runs when hook'd.

I even caught a shark sucker.

Dad with a nice mac.

Wild color patterns on these different groupers.

And even a man growper, lol, this guy was busy crabbing tilt as we pulled away.

Putting bait that we caught in the guides bucket for later in the week.

Back at the dock with our fish, lots of other animals waiting for us to return with fish, too.

The only bird we fed was the egret, we took the carcas's back to the resorts dock and used it for chum.

More to come, that was our 1st fishing trip of 3.

Here are some more pics of the place that we stayed out.

And of course, you can't get away from the keys without taking sunset pictures, LOL.

View from our room.

Hanging out at the pool.

A BIG THANKS to my father and Charmaine for inviting and paying for a wonderful vacation!!

Back to sunsets, LOL.

The resorts owner's dog was in the Easter spirit with his blue hair from coloring eggs.

Cool, fan palms on the grounds.

Still got lots of pictures to go thru and videos.
We made it to the butterfly museum and aquarium in key west and back out fishing for a few more days in the week that we were there, still pics to come.  8)

That looks like a great time. Thanks for sharing! How much was it for the day fishing? And did you need to buy a license?

I think it is 400-600 for a 1/2 and whole day fishing, I think, my father and Charmaine spring for our whole family vacation. And no if you are on a guided trip, you don't need a license, but if you where to fish solo or friends of a bridge or bank, you'd need one.

The little Lady was back in NY with the inlaws, being spoiled.

yes it is, but there's really no need to night fish, lol.

I love fishing the keys,Think about renting your own boat for about 250 a day. We went out about four miles to the first reefs did real good,if its rough go out on the bay side. Looks like you had a great trip.
