Father and Sonday
« on: April 12, 2010, 05:43: PM »
I got out with my boy Mike yesterday for a few hours. The fish were cooperating nicely. We got some nice fat smallies and a couple decent cats too the biggest being 28". Mike hauled in a couple then opted to practice his spear throwing using a river maple for his target. Later he was playing sawing down trees, and hitting the flood water clumps that were strewn in the branches to get the "smoke" to come out (dirt, dust and sand). I had him helping carry some of the stuff and he did pretty good for a scrawny kid who watches too much Sponge Bob. Tomorrow I'm going back for one more shot at topping Muskydib's 31.5 inch channel. Enjoy the slideshow.

That tree was big enough for me to get into.

Nice photos, was that still debris floating down the river or a nice spot of cover?

There were a couple globs of stuff that got strained out by some rocks or stumps underwater. It was good cover, the spot was alive with minnows.
