Soggy Camping Trip
« on: August 10, 2009, 07:35: PM »
When we packed up Sat. morning for our camping trip I checked the weather one more time.  All Clear, no rain in sight and no chance of precip. till midday Sunday.  Yeah right!  Well we made the most of it and had a great time.  The destination was the pond on my families farm.  Fishing was on the agenda but not a high priority, more so just relaxing and goofin' off.  My son took to a nearby spring hole catching frogs and salamanders right away and my daughter was climbing everything in sight.

The trail in to camp.

Setting up camp.

My sister joined us a little later.

Gotta have a fire.

A few random guests

Time for dinner, some dogs, some marshmallows and even a little fresh fish.

My sister decorating the site a little with some coals from the fire.

I did manage to catch a nice bass while I was there too.

Night time.  We heard many different animals in the night woods including at least 10 different screech owls.  Once of which I called right into our camp site.

Sunday morning, after a night of rain we had about an hours break before the downpours started again.

Stoking up the fire for breakfast

One last shot before we packed up.

Not at all, except for my little "fall" we had a great time.

And yes, she is an extremely talented artist.  The stuff she does just messing around amazes me.  I have several of her oil paintings in my house.

Great photos, that is one heck of a fire pit.  The kids didn't seem to mind the weather.
I want to hear that owl call sometime :O

Good luck!  Be there myself a few years back.  I'm itching to get up to Ontario myself.  Hopefully soon.
